MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR

Location: Oakville, ON

GEOFORM is looking to hire Maintenance Specialist. This is a full-time with an average time commitment of 140-180 hours per month, depending upon work availability with the possibility of more. Wage is hourly and determined into an Agreement.You will be part of a team making a real difference in people!s lives.

The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, as well as have a positive attitude. We are looking for people that can work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards. This position will be in-person 5 days a week with 8 hours per day.

The Ideal Candidate

Simply put – we are looking for a top-notch a professional who can oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of a wide range of goods. This is a position for someone to generally ensure the security of the stock and the warehouse. Their duties include meeting productivity targets, receiving and dispatching merchandise appropriately, and managing systems processes.

This role reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Responsibilities

Responsible for inspecting, repairing, maintaining and testing small equipment such as pneumatic and electrical pumps and accessories, compressors, drills and hand tools, etc.,
Safely operate various power and hand tools,
Maintain proper documentation including logs, maintenance records, safety and environment reports, spare part inventories,
Able to use the maintenance module of ERP systems,
Ability to use technology such as; smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, warehouse management systems, etc.
Perform custodial duties of the workshop and maintenance,

Perform work as assigned by the Warehouse and Logistics Manager, including loading, unloading, and moving materials/equipment and running errands for site projects, if needed,
Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to the operations and practice safe work habits,
Complete all required Geoform Canada Safety Training as scheduled
Comply with Geoform Canada Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours.

Qualifications

Must be able to legally work within Canada without need of sponsorship
Must have a valid drivers licence
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Nice to Have: Participation in apprentice program or trade school
5+ year of related experience in a commercial/industrial property setting preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Mechanically Inclined

May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority / emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or stand-by or on-call duties

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs/23 kgs of equipment (pumps, tools, compressors, generators, etc.) and safely install rigging/lifting devices
Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
Involves movement between departments, and properties to facilitate work

Ability to speak fluent English so others can understand you
Ability to read and understand the instruction manuals and the information presented orally and in writing in English
Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, drawings, and schematics
