TECHNICIANS

Location: Greater Toronto Area

GEOFORM is looking to hire technician labourers. This is a full-time unionized role with the average time commitment of 140-160 hours per month, depending upon work availability with the possibility of more. Wage is hourly and determined per the Collective Agreement.You will be part of a team making a real difference in people's lives.

The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, as well as have a positive attitude. We are looking for people that can work with little supervision while following all health and safety standards.

The Ideal Candidate

We need people who are passionate about the work they do and are focused on our collective success. Our goal is simple: we hire great people who like to work hard, have fun, and want to help our team succeed.

Qualifications

Must be able to legally work within Canada without need of sponsorship.
Safely operate various power and hand tools to prepare, cut and shape material according to measurement
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
Follow safety guidelines at all times
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time; must be capable of climbing, kneeling, twisting and bending in various environments; handle, feel and reach with hands / arms, as well as, frequently lift, push or pull or pull up to 70 pounds

Must have a valid drivers licence
Work overtime as needed
Stamina and strength to perform manual labor
Excellent hand-eye-coordination skills
Any other related duties, as required and/or special projects as needed

Skills and Abilities (Preferred, but not required):

Proven experience in a construction related field a plus (carpentry, general labor etc...)
Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
Understanding of general construction techniques, to include methods of installing and securing materials within structures, is a plus but NOT required

Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, tape measure, rulers etc.)
Good understanding of basic math principles
